Judiciary Hearing On Leegin
As Hanno mentioned a few days ago, the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary scheduled a hearing before the Subcommittee on Antitrust, Competition Policy and Consumer Rights on “The Leegin Decision: The End of the Consumer Discounts or Good Antitrust Policy?” The witnesses’ prepared testimony is available online:
- Testimony of Marcy Syms, CEO of SYMS (SYMS is an “off price” retailer with 33 stores selling designer and brand name clothing)
- Testimony of Stephen Bolerjack (chair of the Competition Task Force of the National Association of Manufacturers)
- Testimony of Prof. Robert Pitofsky
- Testimony of Commissioner Pamela Jones Harbour (testifying only for herself, not for the Commission)
- Testimony of Janet L. McDavid (testifying on behalf of the ABA)
Also available is the prepared statement of Sen. Herb Kohl (D-Wis). A webcast of the hearing is also available.
