Patents & Antitrust At Duke Law School

On February 29, Duke’s Intellectual Property and Cyberlaw Society and the Duke Law and Technology Review are holding their 7th annual “Hot Topics” Symposium. The topics this year are patent reform and the intersection between antitrust law and intellectual property. In particular:

Our afternoon panel will examine the intersection between intellectual property and antitrust law. While historically, these bodies of law were thought to conflict, they are now seen as complementary as both are aimed at encouraging innovation, industry, and competition. In today’s economy, it is critical to identify the policies that will allow a market economy based on IP to thrive. Academics and both private and government practitioners will identify and discuss where antitrust and IP law work in harmony toward this goal and where there is still tension.

Here is the press-release and CLE credit is available.
