Changes In Antitrust Law?
On Wednesday, Senator Arlen Specter, R-Pa. - chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee - announced that he “wants to take a close look at possibly changing antitrust laws to better police oil industry consolidation.” According to the article, Sen. Spector said “It is time the Congress took a very serious look at modifying the antitrust laws” in light of such consolidation. As I recall, Sen. Spector also wanted to modify the antitrust laws after Terrell Owens was suspended by the Eagles. And I believe that this effort to modify antitrust laws has gone nowhere since then.
