More On VNU
On Thursday, I blogged about the settlement in the Information Resources-VNU antitrust case. The settlement has recieved a good amount of press coverage. Not mentioned in the press releases but mentioned in coverage (such as the linked article in the Houston Chronicle) is that “VNU has been in talks since January over a buyout offer of up to 7.3 billion euros ($8.87 billion) by a consortium of bidders including AlpInvest Partners, The Blackstone Group, The Carlyle Group, Hellman & Friedman, Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co., Permira and Thomas H. Lee Partners.”
