A Million Dollar Fine

According to this article in the Houston Chronicle, Allied Freight Forwarding - a unit of Sirva Inc. - plead

guilty to two counts of antitrust violations and was fined about $1 million as part of a plea agreement with the Department of Justice. The company said the antitrust case arose from actions of former employees between April 2000 and October 2001. Sirva also announced that the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission ended its inquiry of a former unit and said it will not take any further action on the matter.
