NBDL and Antitrust
Michael McCann has has this post at his Sports Law Blog about the lowering of the NBDL age limit to 18 from 20. He notes that this change ”may reflect criticism that the NBDL’s 20-year old limit is in violation of federal antitrust law, and specifically Section 1 of the Sherman Act, which prohibits agreements that unreasonably restrain trade, such as those impairing a relevant labor market (in this case, players).” Check it out.
