Authorized Generic Study

As we mentioned previously, the FTC is conducting “a study of the use, and likely short- and long-term competitive effects, of authorized generics in the prescription drug marketplace.”

Several interested groups have submitted comments.  The American Antitrust Institute, along with the Consumer Federation of America, Families USA and US PRIG, submitted a comment which AAI has posted (oddly, the bulk of this comment is not on authorized generics but on other allegedly anti-competitive practices that the groups believe the FTC should study along with authorized generics).  The Prescription Access Litigation Project has also submitted a comment.

As we become aware of other additional comments, we will post/link to them too (and please email us if you know of any other comments).

Update: The Orange Book Blog has these comments and one from the AARP.
