EU Commission v. Microsoft; Thanksgiving Edition

The saga involving Microsoft and the Commission continues. Here is the latest from the IHT:

Microsoft submitted a new batch of technical information about its Windows operating system to the European Commission antitrust department on Thursday, meeting the latest in a string of deadlines imposed by the regulator over the past two years. “This is an important milestone,” Microsoft said in a statement. Final edits and a technical review of the information already submitted to the regulator in July have now been completed, the company added, insisting that it had not broken a summer deadline. The commission disagrees. Last week, the European competition commissioner, Neelie Kroes, expressed growing impatience with Microsoft when she imposed the Thursday deadline, which coincided with the Thanksgiving Day holiday in the United States.
Neelie, have mercy on Microsoft’s antitrust lawyers! They want to see their families on Thanksgiving Day, too! (That said, Thursday is better than a Monday after Thanksgiving deadline.)
